  • A set of earrings; these being plain gold/silver studs only.

  • A small religious symbol.

All items of acceptable jewellery are to be removed for P.E. (earrings to be taped if they cannot be removed). Earrings must be removed for swimming (year 5).

Hair of shoulder length or longer is to be worn tied back as a health and safety measure. Ribbons, clips, bands and ‘scrunchies’ are to be of school colours (grey, red, black or white). Unusual colouring or extreme hairstyles are unacceptable (nothing less than a grade/number 2 hairstyle).

Mobile Phones and Smart Watches

Pupils below Year 5 are not allowed to bring mobile phones to school. We do discourage any children bringing mobile phones into school but, if they are required by pupils in year 5 or 6 for the journey to or from school, they should always be handed in to Reception. While on school grounds, they are not allowed to be turned on.

In school, pupils should not wear smart watches which allow them to access the internet, social media, messaging or phones.

Other Items

The following miscellaneous items are unacceptable: nail polish, make-up, anklets and friendship bands.

In accordance with P.E. health and safety guidance, Junior School pupils will do indoor gym and dance activities in bare feet.

Black shoes should be worn to school with children at the Junior School being allowed to change into trainers at playtimes when necessary.

The school tie, PE kit, school book bags, PE bags and forest school waterproofs are available to purchase from the school.

All clothing must be marked clearly with the child’s name so that it can be returned easily.

Pupil Premium

If a child is in receipt of Pupil Premium then the school pays for branded uniform items. Parents / carers of children in receipt of Pupil Premium should talk to the school office.

Second-Hand Uniform

The school keeps some second-hand uniform in the first aid rooms in case of any accidents. Second-hand uniform sales are run by the Farnham Common Friends and/or School. We aim to do this once a term.
