Religion

RE is an important part of the school curriculum and should be taught with relevance to the child’s stage of development and their experience. We seek to provide a clearer idea of what religion is about, the importance that it plays in many people’s lives and how that faith is expressed in their daily lives and routines.

The Agreed Syllabus has four main aims:

To enable pupils to:

  • Understand the nature, role and influence of religion in the world;
  • Pursue personal quest for meaning, purpose and value;
  • Formulate reasoned opinion/argument and handle controversial issues and truth claims;
  • Develop understanding of and respect for different beliefs and lifestyles.
